anxiety and depression

Anxiety

Feeling worried or anxious every once and a while is part of being human. But when anxiety becomes constant and difficult to ignore or manage, it can interfere with your ability to live your preferred life.

Anxiety comes in many forms: social anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, excessive worry about what others think, or difficulty managing worries and racing thoughts.

Depression

Experiencing depression is more than just feeling down or sad. Depression can impact your ability to do even the most basic daily tasks, such as showering, doing the dishes, or spending time with loved ones.

When depression becomes chronic, it can make things feel pointless and the weight of emotional pain can feel impossible.

Anxiety and depression are often a terrible duo that can show up together. Figuring out how to manage one or both of these experiences alone can be hard. Mental health counseling can help.

How Therapy Can Help

Anxiety counseling. Depression counseling. Therapy for women, LGBTQ+ and chronically ill.

Living with chronic anxiety and/or depression can at times feel extremely defeating. The good thing is you don't have to keep living that way.

Therapy can support experiences of anxiety by learning how to better mange your symptoms and find ways to feel more regulated and in control. By exploring tools that increase feeling grounded and present, therapy can help you feel more capable of coping with anxiety in various situations so that you can get back to living your life.

Therapy can support you living with depression by having a space to process and work through what can feel like pretty dark thoughts. Therapy can support you with better understanding how your thoughts and emotions impact your behaviors and vice versa. Accessing control and autonomy can be incredibly helpful in learning how to more easily live with experiences of depression. Understanding what tools and coping mechanisms are necessary to help prevent depression episodes, and which are helpful for navigating and managing depression when it strikes, can help you feel more empowered and capable to find relief.
