LGBTQIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and others within the gender and sexual diversity spectrum.
While it is not always the case that a person's sexual orientation or gender identity is the source of emotional distress, therapy supports the exploration of identity and lived experience, which includes sexuality and gender.
If you are part of the LGBTQ+ community, or are even an ally, finding a therapist who provides affirming, culturally competent counseling can create a safe, respectful space to explore life’s challenges. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, or relationship concerns, therapy that is inclusive and intersectional can help you feel seen, heard, and empowered within all of your identities.
It is possible that you are seeking therapy and it has nothing to do with your experiences of queerness. Regardless of how you identify, I center intersectionality in the therapeutic space to make room for how the tangling of your various identities inform your human experience.
Whether you are struggling with mental health concerns, considering coming out to friends and family, questioning your identity, or exploring gender affirming care options, my intention is to provide a non-judgmental space for you to explore your identity, express your emotions, be fully yourself when and how that feels comfortable for you, and feel supported and affirmed in your gender and sexuality.
If you're navigating identity, relationships, mental health concerns, or life transitions, LGBTQ+ inclusive therapy can support you heal, grow, and thrive. Schedule a therapy session with me today!
